Based in Cape Town, this role is paying R60-70K per month.

THE ROLE:
As an Application Security Engineer, you will build the platforms, tooling, and automation that help keep millions of payment transactions secure every day.
You’ll develop secure-by-default Java libraries for authentication, encryption, and logging, build tooling that identifies security risks before code reaches production, integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines, and automate vulnerability remediation across engineering environments.
You’ll work closely with Software Engineers, Platform Engineers, DevOps teams, and Security stakeholders to ensure that secure software development is the easiest path for engineering teams across the business.
THE REQUIREMENTS:
2+ years’ experience in Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or similar engineering roles
Strong backend development experience with Java
Experience building or modifying CI/CD pipelines and engineering tooling
Hands-on AWS and Infrastructure as Code experience
Scripting experience using Python, Bash, Go, or similar technologies
Strong understanding of modern software development practices and cloud-native environments
