This Intermediate Site Reliability Engineer role is Cape Town-based with a CTC of up to R840K per annum.

THE ROLE
As an Intermediate Site Reliability Engineer, you will build and improve the reliability, observability, and automation capabilities behind large-scale cloud-native payment systems processing millions of financial transactions daily. You will work closely with engineering teams to improve deployment safety, monitoring, alerting, CI/CD automation, and infrastructure reliability across AWS-based environments.
You will gain hands-on exposure to modern SRE practices across AWS, Terraform, CI/CD, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, Loki, and distributed systems reliability while accelerating your engineering growth through real ownership, modern tooling, and complex large-scale technical challenges.
REQUIREMENTS
BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
2+ years’ experience in Software Engineering with exposure to Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering environments
Strong coding/scripting ability using Python or similar languages
Experience working with AWS and modern cloud-native infrastructure
Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
Experience with monitoring and observability tooling such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, or DataDog
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and distributed systems reliability
Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for automation and scalable systems design
